Today we are going to discuss the
recipe of Rajma with jeera rice. As you all know rajma
chawal are favourite among kids and it is not so hard to make and it
can be made in less time You can serve it with onion rings at home and it
tastes very good and tempting and so kids love it very much.
Ingredients: -

Turmeric

let's prepare Rajma Chawal, you have to Ensure that
you soak the rajma overnight Let it cook for at least 6 to 7 whistles
Even if it whistles 7 - 8 times, then that's not a problem The more your rajma
gets cooked, the tastier is its result.
Rajma rice is very popular vegetarian dish in all over the India, it is the
dish that is not only liked by the kids but elders also. It's a proper meal you
can have it any time.
Process: -
★ So, let us prepare its tempering first We
will add a little oil in our bottom pan Finely chopped onions Add a few green
chillies Just for that little flavour now wait till the onions get a little
brown Ginger - Garlic paste You can also choose to add finely chopped ones ,1
tablespoon Mix the paste property with the onions The onions are now perfectly
brown We will add a few chopped tomatoes to this Add salt while boiling the
rajma.
★ I will also
add a little salt to the spices while cooking Just a little salt Onions
Tomatoes Ginger - Garlic paste and Green Chillies Pretty much the backbone of
Indian cooking Turmeric Powder Half tablespoon Because we cannot afford to lose
the Reddish colour of our Rajma Coriander Powder 1 tablespoon Cumin
Powder 1 tablespoon Or a little less than a tablespoon Red Chilli Powder Which
will enhance the Reddish colour of our Rajma Along with making your dish
a little more spicy.
★ We have also
added a few green chillies So you can add the red chilli powder according to
your taste Mix and fry the entire spices properly Give it that colour While
tempering your spices, Do add a few drops of water This will help your
spices blend perfectly .
★ The tomatoes
have also softened We will now add our pre-boiled Rajma to it Mix them
all again Now the trick here is You patiently allow the ingredients to boil, in
a low flame So that the Rajma we had boiled release its extracts and
give us a thick gravy You get a nice creamy rajma to have it with your
hot rice.
★ It takes 10 -
15 minutes to let the rajma boil till the time being, you can prepare
your rice. Let us now check our rajma. You'll see that your rajma
turned thick as well as blended perfectly with the onions and tomatoes I will
be adding a few pinch of Garam Masala now It is optional If you like the taste
of Garam Masala, you can add it Or else you don't.
★ Let’s start
with the procedure of making jeera rice. For this, preheat a pressure cooker
and add 1.5 to 2 tbsp ghee into it. Allow the ghee to heat. I have also taken 1
cinnamon stick, 2 cloves and 1 brown cardamom. Peel the cardamom and use the
seeds. I have peeled the cardamom and used the seeds. Discard the skin. Ghee is
now sufficiently heated, splutter 1 tbsp cumin seeds to it.
★ Then add whole
spices to it as well and sauté for a while. Now add the rice to the pressure
cooker. I have taken more than 2 cups of rice. 1 soaked the rice in water for
half an hour and then drain out the excess water. So, I have soaked rice, add
them to the pressure cooker. Stir and roast the rice for a while. Now we will
add water to it.
★ If you are making jeera rice in an open vessel then we add twice the quantity of water than rice. But we are making these rice in pressure cooker so don’t add double the quantity of water rather keep it little less. So, we have more than 2 cup rice we will add 4 cup water to it. Mix well and add 1 tsp salt or to taste. Stir well and close the pressure cooker with lid. Now let the rice cook until it starts to whistle.
★ The moment it starts to whistle, turn off the flame. Turn off the flame immediately as the whistle has started blow. It took 3-4 minutes to cook the rice. Let the steam escape on its own and then take out the rice from the pressure cooker. Mix them well as the cumin seeds comes on the top when cooking rice in the pressure cooker. Rice is ready, transfer them to a plate.
With Coriander Leaves You sure use it to garnish but if you add them while preparing the dish its flavour gets amazingly blended with the entire dish Garam Masala and Coriander Leaves.
